And I also met Nadine Horn in the sauna. She’s doing a three border triathlon this summer, including a 550 k swim down the Danube. See here for details. But she also has a book called “Do it”, a varied employment record (shepherdess, TV, author) and like all lido regulars is chatty, witty and friendly. And she knows Dan Martin (of Global Triathlon fame). Pause for breath!
I saw her in the pool towards the end of my swim and she, unwittingly, gave me the impetus to speed up, level and pass her on the way back to the 2000 yard mark. Which at that point in the swim I needed as the cold was not just seeping in, but chilling me to the bone. We talked about just getting on and doing things; and her story is testament to the reality that you can. One life approach, be in the present and all that.
