After yesterday’s sun and warm air, we fetched up before nine this morning and felt the chilly north wind. In contrast to yesterday, the pool was relatively rubber free and smelt less like a concentration of used condoms. Mrs Ape clocked up a respectable sub 30 minute km, and I took it, mostly, easy for a mile. But am still getting aches and a numb arm on completion. Then onto handball with Jonathan, Vince and Barry; before more games with Kate. And great slabs of her wonderful carrot cake. Left the lido with an empty box, after depositing a case of home made ginger biscuits with the lifeguards. Water’s now up to 12.5 degrees C.
