Great film here from Vanessa Daws about the Sandycove Distance Week 2012, in which I played a small part.

Saw Steph dive in, chatted with Sue about the upcoming iSpy at the Lido book – selling at a CWSC near you soon. Sue B is learning patball – the last bastion of male power is crumbling at the lido. We observed that a really under-inflated tennis ball makes for a very close-to-the-wall game.

Kate was cake free, but has agreed to organise the CWSC raffle (with 3 swim holidays as prizes!!!). Alex forgot his camera, Carleone and Tricky were having a morning off, bless ’em and Chris S makes marvellous toast. It is an enduring privilege to have the time to swim 1200 yards in 7 degree water and then warm up in a sauna, in the company of my SLSC comrades.

Meanwhile Mrs Ape stayed in longer. Hardcore that woman, hardcore.
