rain, pain and a game

Tipping it down. Grey brooding skies. Big raindrops. A smiling Nando waiting for us in the cafe, after a week in Rio. He dives straight in with no regard for the 10+ degrees colder it is. Alex of Quick Dip took some photos of us and Mrs Ape here.

Nando and I agree to chat in the warmth – it’s a little parky to stand at the end of the pool – but are bamboozled by the sheer weight of chattering regulars in the sauna, that it is hard to get a word in edgeways. Fresh bread, Mrs Ape’s experimental Malted Chocolate Cake, warm coffee and more chit, chit, chatter later. And a game of ball. And a conversation about balls. We finally left, to see Pip’s car abandoned in the car park.
