Brought Ned Denison in as a guest today – he’s en route to swim False Bay in South Africa over Christmas – see here. He’s also an entrant in the CWSC2013 endurance, and having never swum in Tooting Bed Lido before, it was a good opportunity for him to test the waters. David had the temperature at 5 degrees C, so the chance was on for a Polar Bear km. Needless to say he swam it in around 15 minutes; with me trailing in several minutes later.
The Brass Monkeys performed a motley set of carols with Charlotte on Euphonium and lads various on guitars – with the massed ranks of the SLSC choirs (sopranos a little quiet though!). Nicky had another 30th birthday; cakes appeared en masse (thanks to the banana cake cook – ’twas delicious).
And the normal races took place, with the usual incomprehensible handicap scoring system. All is well. Merry meet, merry met and merry meet again and again and again.
