Over 600 competitors, hundreds of spectators, coldest water ever for a UK CWSC (just under 2C) and lots of lovely interactions with a host of people. Check the SLSC CWSC2013 facebook page for more pictures and comments. Thanks to all who came and made it such a wonderful day. Thanks to Margy (organiser in chief), Clare and the host of SLSC volunteers for making it run smoothly. Special mention to the hot Ribena women – Julie and Sarah – an inspired idea. And thanks to Gaia for providing us with a sunny day.

Mrs Ape got a hat prize for her elegant swan and was one of the three longest endurers. She also managed to raise around £1500 in three short weeks for her endurance swim. I took more than a second off my freestyle time and can lay claim to being the 12th fastest cold water freestyler in the UK!
