The weather forecast said no rain, so it was peeing it down. Met John Donald at Tooting for a cold swim. John has completed twenty separate one mile swims (yes, you read that right) in Parliament Hill Lido this year – that’s about one every one and a half days, in temperatures between 1 and 6 degrees C. He fancied a swim at Tooting. So a swim he had, and encouraged by his feats I doubled my distance and swam 400 yards. Here’s one of his blogs – John Donald. The water was a tad above two, according to our official temp taker David.

Then a lovely warm up in the sauna, chatting to Liz; and we shared some leek pie with Jonny. I then went and swam another 4000m in Crystal Palace. Met Dom in the water, but couldn’t stop to natter much – sorry Dom.

Sounds lovely. Topped off with leek pie on St David’s day. Loving your work…
