Budleigh Salterton

Or a day out with wrong lane Helen. I’m down in Exeter for a day to deliver some training; and just a week before had met up with Helen at Tooting Bec Lido. I’d said I was down today, and she said, “That’s my afternoon off, let’s go swimming”. So we headed off to Budleigh Salterton. Helen measured it at a balmy 10C, I swam for about 13 minutes, didn’t get the comedy shakes, shared chilli lemon drizzle cake (recipe courtesy of JJ, who was lost to wild swimmers last year), hot tea and did our bit of rubbish swimming by collecting a carrier bag full of discarded bottles. An older fellow asked us where we were from, and when Helen said Exeter, he announced that we could buy some heavily discounted walking boots at the local store!
