Minions, white caps and cheese rings

24/09/2016 by Carl Reynolds

Gone west to Cornwall for a weekend. Thanks to Deb and Louise we are tucked up in a cottage on the edge of Bodmin in Higher Tremarcoombe. On Friday afternoon we went to Lanhydrock for a wander r0und an aristo’s pile. By room 32, I was fuming about our history of exploitation and unearned privilege and needed to get outside. So a walk around the gardens was a good tonic. And then off to Minions to see The Hurlers and the CheeseRing.

Saturday sees us down in Lansallos for an attempt at a swim. But with the wind coming from the south at 20mph the rollers prevent it at both West Coombe Cove and further east at Polperro. Up at Golitha Falls however we manage a good scramble and skinny dip. And then the rain came down.

  1. Peter Ratcliff says:

Did you get in the Gold diggings quarry at Minions for a swim with the shoal of rude?

Fab photies Mr Ape. Is the path down to the beach man-made (for smugglers) or a natural feature? Water looks cold….
