Buckfastleigh. A small town on the edge of the moor, with a small pool kept open by locals for the last 130 years. For the second year we run a cold water gala. Loads of happy souls turn up. Mr Ape gets a silver in the crawl/butterfly final; and the Aquatic Apes come a tidy third in the relays. Over £1000 raised.

Thanks to Buckfastleigh Pool; Kate Rew; Selkie Swim; Carl and Kate Reynolds; The Globe; Jolly Rogers; Jill Hulatt; Matt Newbury and Sophie Pierce for raffle prizes. And the race marshals other volunteers and lifeguards – without whom none of this fun would be possible.

Brilliant pics, Mr Ape – you really captured the spirit of such a wonderfully fun, freezingly cold, good-cause event. Big up to you and the crew for such fantastic organisation and enthusiasm!
